“The Plot” - White Rabbits
“Don’t Give Up” - The Noisettes
…I dreamed I was skateboarding. I was in and about Pittsburg High, ran into my old teachers Mrs. Eichhorn and Mrs. Crowell, continually asked everyone how we were back in class despite the fact that we all graduated eight years ago, and basically went on my merry way.
Until my teeth started to fall out.
Now I’ve had dental dreams before, so this wasn’t anything new. Unfortunately at this point in the dream I had moved from an unbelievable scenario (back in high school) to being on a street near my house. My teeth felt loose, and sure enough I plucked two out, my front and my crown.
I freaked out. It felt ridiculously real and I didn’t really know I was dreaming. In fact, I was SO frightened I started repeating to myself “this has to be a dream, this has to be a dream” with hopes that it was and that I’d wake up. It didn’t work. At least not right away, I did wake eventually, after I had nabbed four or so teeth from my gum line. Shit scared me to death.
Afterwards I dreamed I was the goalie for the U.S. soccer team, and managed to assist on a couple of shots in our 14-4 victory over whichever country we were playing. No one knew who I was going into the match and I gained instant popularity because of it. They nicknamed me “Superman” for some reason. I don’t know why, I assume it was my brain’s desire to work comic book nerdery into every fantasy of mine.
