Tonight’s trip to the UCB Theatre was amazing.
It was Crash Test, hosted by Rob Huebel and Paul Scheer (Human Giant, Children’s Hospital, etc). They did their own round of jokes and audience interaction, and then introduced a number of other guest comics who did sets. These included:
Margaret Fucking Cho
Will Weldon
Claudia Cogan
Jenny Slate (Bored to Death, SNL)
Jeffrey Ross
John Mulaney (writer for SNL, Important Things With Demetri Martin)
It was insane. I mean…the show only cost $5 and I saw all of these amazing comedians and writers. Unfortunately the audience was sort of shitty, but oh well.
It makes me wish I lived down here, being so close to such brilliant entertainers who perform at such readily available locations for so cheap.
Tomorrow we are taking a day to recuperate. Originally we were going to go to our final day of Disneyland on Wednesday, see a show at the theatre after, and then drive back late, late at night. But that doesn’t sound safe, so instead we’re going to sleep in tomorrow, lick our wounds, and do our last two Disney days on Wednesday and Thursday, stay another night and return late Thursday instead.
