So I beat Infamous.
It was a pretty decent length, I don’t know how long exactly but at least 10 hours it seemed. While most of that time was spent tracking down side missions and slowly traversing the length of three islands it seemed to keep pace very well, with story segments coming at an even pace.
I liked how the plot progressed, although it seemed to be a little convoluted at times and seemed to involve certain elements that were never properly explained. I didn’t like Cole at first, but he grew on me. I never liked Zeke, but that’s mostly the voice actors fault. The battle mechanics were really solid, and after spending some time zapping enemies and floating about you really get comfortable with the controls. There was just the right amount of special moves, and most fight scenarios gave you free reign with which to use.
Many of the side missions were pretty fucking annoying, particularly the ones which required you to scale buildings and zap surveillance equipment and which required you to lead enemies to a police station. But completing them made the game easier, as it equalizes portions of the map and wipes out enemy spawns.
I have the sequel onhand, which I borrowed from Joe, and I’ll probably start it tomorrow. I’m curious to see how the story picks up, and what sort of leaps they’ve made with the visuals.
